Why Now?

With the ongoing genocide in Gaza, it has never felt more urgent to tell Palestinian stories and elevate Palestinian voices, from Gaza to the West Bank to Jerusalem to the '48 Palestinians and the diaspora. Palestinians are often dehumanised and demonised in the Western media or reduced to statistics in death tolls. Palestinian cinema plays an important role in what is known as ‘cultural resistance’. Despite a brutal military occupation and ongoing forced displacement, Palestinians consistently find creative ways to humanise their struggle through art and reclaim their heritage and history. We have also timed the podcast release for May to remember and raise awareness about the 1948 Nakba which is commemorated on 15th May by Palestinians around the world.
